Pop-up / disappearing targets

I've been playing with this for the upcoming Michigan State Subgun Championship. The girls were happy to help me test it out.

Re: Spring2016 KCR National SWubgun Match Resullts

Great job all! It looked like an excellent match, and I wish I could have made it. Hopefully this fall. I forget, and I didn't see it listed in the results. Since the fastest time was in Unlimited category, is that one eligible for High Overall? Or is that just for the "limited" classes? Just curious.

Re: Fall 2015 Knob Creek National Subgun Match Results

It was a challenging match, and I thought it was very well done. It was run very efficiently. The range was set up such that the steel could be reset on the first three arrays while the shooter was still shooting at the last array. Then the ROs had the on-deck shooter at the start position, ready to...

Scores???????
Yeah - wish you could have made it. It was a really good match.

I'm told there is going to be another match at Manton, MI on Sept. 12.

Re: 6th Annual MI State Match!! Saturday August 15, 2015

It was a great match! Stages ranged from simple to complex. I'll try to get some video up later today.

Notably absent from the match was that guy from Florida who took all the prizes last year. I think he was afraid of getting beat!

Re: Spring 2015 KCR National Subgun Match Results (Unofficia

Interesting to see the breakdown. After all the hate and discontent over mag limits, you get roughly half as many entries in the Unlimited category as any of the limited classes. So did this category become the "warm up" run for the others? Also interesting to see that roughly half of the Unlimited ...

Re: Knob Creek National Subgun Match Rule Change

I also think the open bolt/closed bolt distinction should be dropped. Classes are Top Gun eligible (irons or optics), whatever (irons or optics) that wasn't run in TG, and then unlimited. 1 gun, 3 runs, 3 classes. Simple and fair. Prizes for all 3 classes should be awarded as well. My only criticis...

Re: Knob Creek National Subgun Match Rule Change

Ok, I'll come out and say it: What is wrong with "gaming" the match? For the people who shoot handgun competitions, it seems the big disconnect between USPSA/IPSC and IDPA is one sport looks down on "gaming", where the other considers it simply doing what is most beneficial within the confines of th...

Re: Knob Creek National Subgun Match Rule Change

Seems like an unfair advantage if that's the case and will become the norm for those wishing to game it. So in theory I could run OB optics fun run, Ob optics unlimited run and then OB optics for Top Gun. An "unfair advantage" is one that is offered to one competitor, but not to another. I don't se...

Re: Knob Creek National Subgun Match Rule Change

Paul, I would ask that you consider the fact that many competitors do not have both open and closed bolt guns. For the person who just got into this game and has a single gun they are at a disadvantage to those who are able to shoot all four classes. If anything, it looks like Paul just made a big ...

Re: Knob Creek National Subgun Match Rule Change

Curious to see what kind of feedback you will get, both online and at the matches. We've discussed it here before. Personally, I think it was going to have to happen sooner or later. I'm just glad you didn't reduce the number of classes / runs a shooter could participate in. And I think It's a good ...

Re: Bowling pin match

Looks like a lot of fun. Just make sure you use the ones made of wood and not plastic ;) The plastic ones are known for their full power ricochets :P I've never seen solid plastic pins. They have always been wood core with a plastic cover. The usually have a core of pine, or some other soft wood. B...
