Re: Knob Creek Fall 2011
Icer I too dislike flying with NFA however for $125/yr you can get $25k worth of insurance for your guns through historic firearms. Granted the guns are replaceable but that puts my mind at ease when I do fly. If you need the info I can pull it up from my policy if you want to check out the coverag...

Re: Knob Creek Fall 2011
Knob creek has one "Stage" made up of several "strings" of targets. :) 6000 miles. is no joke You could opt to fly :p I've flown with NFA items before............but I don't enjoy doing it. Especially since I'm guaranteed one or more connections when flying out of Reno..........too many opportuniti...

Re: Knob Creek Fall 2011
I think the thing I like most about The Fruity Taste of Victory video is the music playing in the background. Vivaldis' Four Seasons really gives it..........almost a Masterpiece Theatre vibe. Really classes it up. And for those of us who haven't had the pleasure of meeting you in person, it really...

Re: Knob Creek Fall 2011
Doesn't the competition require mag changes (or at least re-seats). If so, that will negate most advantages due to large mags. Mag changes are only required between stages. Stages or target arrays? Isn't there only one stage shot at the match? I was under the impression a magazine change was requir...

The only real thing I do not like (this is all "mac" type firearms) is the play between the upper and lower. I shimmed all my uppers to my lower because it bothers me so much. Icer, the barrel tilts on the jati. It is brought into battery as the bolt closes. This is part of the reason while it has ...

3.) As a true hard cover. It is there to protect something on the range. A pulley, a target stand, some soft mechanism that will fry the stage if it gets destroyed. This popper should be set to it will not fall and expose that which it is protecting. If this popper gets a hit, it should cost the sh...

Todd--- Has any attempt been made to reach consensus on appropriate target colors for the forthcoming rulebook? It seems everyone agrees that red would be the appropriate color for no-shoots. Will white or black be the appropriate color for shoot targets? Would it be better to have black steel be de...

You just like running around kicking hornet nets don't you. No hornets around here that I can see..............most everyone including you and I seem to be in agreement. Just trying to get this thread back on topic............ I won't argue on the best stock gun but to be kind I would say t...

Todd--- Didn't see that comment as coming off as snide...........personally I've always dreamed of becoming a benevolent dictator. :) I think WE are all making some good progress here as I have stated. I hope WE are able to sell OUR conclusions to the many match directors across the country, many of...

So after more than three pages of sometimes heated discussion I think I can confidently crown the single most dominating gun for any type of subgun competition.............the Reising M50 with at least 3 scope bases. :D Best stock gun The Sterling whether suppressed or unsuppressed. Best open bolt o...

I think those who count are already here. We are the ones that set up the monthly matches. We see what works and what does not. So as far as the competitors go, if we present it in the correct format others will follow. We :) are the leaders. Ahhhh...........spoken like a true benevolent dictator. ...

Allright..........guess it's time for me to step out of the closet so to speak and admit that I was diagnosed in grade school as suffering with the horror that is color-blindness. Yep, it was me holding up the line and cutting into valuable recess time when I couldn't "see" those damn numbers amongs...

Course that kind of prize money won't even cover the first class round-trip tickets. But it ain't about the money now is it? It's all about the braggin' rights!...
