Spring2016 KCR National SWubgun Match Resullts

Post by Paul Winters » Wed Apr 13, 2016 8:03 am

Another one in the books. I think this match was a great one. The props looked good, the course layout was varied with a lot of different challenges, and the targets provided were excellent. A great big thanks to Innovative targets (http://www.innovativetargets.net/) for the use of all the different targets provided. They even built a steel moving trolley system that was almost 100% and a Death Star steel target that was fantastic. Thanks to all the Range Officers who worked their tails off to keep everyone safe. It was great to meet with old friends and to meet a lot of new friends as well. As always, thanks to Knob Creek for all their support and help. A great big thank you to John Anderson (Sgt. Shaggy) who has agreed to apprentice for a few years and continue with great future matches after me. I am not proficient in posting a video, but maybe some of y'all can for others to see.

Here are the unnofficial results as Knob Creek has already posted the official results on their Website. Congrats to all the shooters who came out to play in the cold, sleet, and ice. Big congrats to Tom Carpenter for his TOP GUN run. See y'all out there.

P.S. Hopefully I will see y'all at the Michigan State Subgun Match in August.

Great job all! It looked like an excellent match, and I wish I could have made it. Hopefully this fall.

I forget, and I didn't see it listed in the results. Since the fastest time was in Unlimited category, is that one eligible for High Overall? Or is that just for the "limited" classes? Just curious.

After the rule change limiting all runs to 30 rounds other than Unlimited class, Unlimited was excluded fom the TOP GUN award for the very reason of unlimited capacity. Having a high capacity round count does give an advantage.

Missed seeing you there, Garrett. The low port movement allowed string was based on your suggestion. Hope to see you next time.

I'm amazed top gun was with an MP5 (I hate those triggers) and that had to be one hell of a run with unlimited beating Tom by only a few seconds.
