Well Todd, let me do my best to paint a picture for you.
I got the camera out, took the only picture I have posted, and the battery died, getting ready to start the match, so couldn't very well leave, so not much picture taking was done, but, I will try and get more.
We set up on Saturday, pretty much an off the cuff set up, trying to use as many targets as we could, the one goal other than being safe, lots o full auto fire. So we ended up with between 45 and 60 targets per stage on the three stages, some were entertaining, the 8 bowling pins set up in a puddle, great effects for you had to hose on sustained full auto, fun. The hanging clay birds were a challenging, then the rest of stage 1 was all you garden variety steel, hinged knock overs, poppers.
Stage 2 was a challenge, we started from a standing spot, had to go to kneeling, either weak hand or strong hand, then to the middle, then to the other, your choice. This one pushed me to the limit, but the back held up, praise the lord and pass the accupuncture needles, it's wonderful, has got me so much more back into the game. I started by going to weak hand first, get it out of the way, no shoot in front of drop plate, then more knockovers, a swinger that was tripped after shooting a popper, two pie plates on cardboard, three hits each, you know me, not just two, but about 12 hits, that's what dual mag clamps are for?
Stage 3 started out with plates in a line, then a row of plates, then more plates in the brush, painted silver, oooh, talk about bitching!, but it was real cool for you had to look for the targets, I mean LOOK for them, it was a good challenge. You finished up by dropping a popper, then a turner, the a drop plate, thru a small window.
A really good time.
Best was how everybody worked together to set up, shoot and tear down. We only had 10 shooters, mainly due to the first of the morning Thunderstorm, kept some away, alas, part of it.
For the September 12 match however, mucho pictures, I give you my word.
